Sean Fraser - Executive Director
Sean worked in the private corporate sector for over 20 years, largely in the family entertainment, event, and tourism industries, and has a background in technical theatre arts, arts production, set and prop construction, lighting and sound design, with a degree in business management. He has managed diffrent restaurants & big box retail locations in Calgary over the years. Sean has been involved in the design and construction of food service locations, retail shops, and theatre facilities. He has served on not for profit boards for over 15 years, acting as President and has extensive experience working in property and arts facility management. Sean became the President of Evergreen Theatre in 2004. He stepped into the role of Executive Director in the summer of 2007. He is a hardworking, hands-on, fun, creative, and driven individual who believes in thinking outside the box, creating fun opportunities, nurturing a collaborative work environment and the growth of individuals. Sean is a huge believer in the business of the arts and supporting artists in business.
Valmai Goggin - Artistic Producer
Valmai is a Calgary-based director, instructor, and Maritimer. She holds an MFA Directing from the University of Calgary, and a BA English and Drama from Mount Allison University. She is an active freelance director, and was the 2012-13 RBC Emerging Director for Lunchbox Theatre. She has taught for a range of programs and ages, including Storybook Theatre School, Pumphouse Theatres, South Fish Creek, Neptune Theatre School, the University of Calgary, and Theatre Alberta's Artstrek. She has worked and trained across Canada, enjoying her time in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Nunavut, and now Alberta. A strong believer in arts-based learning and the power of theatre to communicate, challenge, and change, she is delighted to be a part of Evergreen Theatre. Valmai is also Artistic Director for Theatre Transit.
Christina Chase-Warrier - Programs Coordination Manager
Christina has been extensively involved with Evergreen Theatre for over 14 years. As an elementary school teacher with the Calgary Board of Education for over 10 years, she first experienced Evergreen's unique blend of educational yet engaging programming during one of their many school performances. She was immediately drawn to the organization's dedication and dynamism and has been a strong supporter ever since.
Christina's background experience both as a classroom teacher and then as an Executive Assistant to a local MLA have proved to be a very valuable fit with Evergreen Theatre. Her deep understanding of what engages children, commitment to Evergreen's values and organizational skills have helped nurture and sustain Evergreen's growing community footprint.
